As our customers trust in Telenor is essential to us, our customers' data privacy and data security have been identified as fundamental in our corporate strategy. At the same time Telenor is increasingly dependent on the ability to use data to provide products and services to our customers that meet their expectations. That's why we need to have best in class practices in place for collection, processing and transfer of this data to build and maintain the trust of our customers. To ensure we have the essential competence and capacity within the privacy area, we are now searching for a Senior Privacy Advisor for our Group Privacy Unit.

The Privacy unit is responsible for defining our overall privacy strategy (for further information please visit our Privacy Centre at our corporate webpage) and for identifying relevant activities for implementation of our corporate strategy. Group Privacy is involved in the global transformation projects that entail increased and centralized use of customer data for analytics purposes. The unit is accountable for the governance of Telenor Group's processes and manuals for handling of customer and employee data. The unit also provides guidance and assistance to Telenor's operations all over the world on how to interact and engage with authorities on issues such as privacy and freedom of expression.

Tasks

Your role will be to take part in the daily and long-term activities in the Group Privacy unit. This will include taking part in privacy assessments, participating in cross-functional projects, providing guidance and advice on privacy-related matters to Asian units in the Telenor Group, and ensuring that the privacy strategy and policy requirements across the Telenor Group have been adequately implemented. Some travel - 30-60 days p.y. - should be expected.

Qualifications

You have worked with privacy-related issues in a large international company, a law firm or a government body.
You demonstrate specialist knowledge and expertise within privacy and data protection, and especially on international data transfers and you have further ambitions to develop your knowledge.
You are motivated to learn more about and interact with other business environments, such as Technology, Markets and Research.
You are inspired by digital capabilities and would like to be a part of the journey of transforming Telenor into a digital service provider.
You hold a university degree such as a Master (e.g. MA, LL.M., MSc) or PhD.
You communicate effectively in writing and have excellent presentation skills.
You interact and cooperate well with people from other cultures and professional environments.
You are proactive and like to see results.
You make things happen by taking responsibility for the task and the output.
You are able to build a network of contacts and create relationships that can help you achieve your objectives.

A truly international position in a successful telecommunications provider where you will be constantly challenged. The position will initially be based in Oslo, Norway with the expectation to relocate the position to Bangkok, Thailand after the initial onboarding.
