ACREDIT: Advanced ColoRectal Cancer - Individualization of Therapies

The research network is based at Akershus University Hospital (AUH) and Oslo University Hospital-Norwegian Radium Hospital (OUH), which are hospitals affiliated to the University of Oslo. The Principal Investigators, one at each site and both operating in a clinician-scientist (50/50) setting, are Group Leaders of the two principal research groups of the network: Clinical and Molecular Oncology in ColoRectal Cancer (AUH) and Translational Cancer Therapy (OUH). The network activities were initiated as a joint research program and have evolved into multidisciplinary research on advanced colorectal cancer, applying a range of contemporary experimental and clinical scientific approaches. The network was formally established with funding from the South-Eastern Norway Regional Health Authority (2014-2016). Recently, the network was extended to include Vestre Viken Drammen Hospital, and the funding was renewed for another three years (2017-2019).

We are now seeking a highly motivated Project Coordinator.

The ambitious applicant will take on responsibility for a number of tasks, such as:

  • The internal support and coordination of the network at and between AUH, OUH, and Drammen, including management of research logistics and practicalities at the hospitals

  • Responsibility for the management of the ACREDIT webpage (www.acredit.no)

  • Strengthening existing and coordinating the establishment of new national and international collaboration within the network

  • Organizing and operating network meetings, workshops, and other events

  • Gathering and analyzing required information and data in preparation and updating of network procedures, research proposals, and external campaigns

  • Other administrative tasks upon request

The successful applicant has a relevant professional background with the following qualifications and capacities:

  • Preferably a PhD degree from a relevant field (e.g., biomedicine, biotechnology, academic or public management) and some postdoctoral working experience

  • Fluent in written and oral English

  • A good command of a Scandinavian language

  • Rich in initiatives, independence at work, flexibility, capacity to work to tight deadlines, willingness to travel (10-15 days per year domestic/internationally in addition to the regular commuting between the hospitals)

  • Collaborating skills within a multidisciplinary team to communicate project insights and ensure deliverables in an accurate and timely manner

For the proper person, the ACREDIT initiative is delighted to offer exciting opportunities, such as:

  • Working with leading experts in the field at a national and international level

  • An attractive career path, including possibilities for extension beyond the current project period

  • Salary according to qualifications

The application must include description of education and previous experience, and a brief presentation of the specific motivation for taking on the assignment, attached with a structured CV and relevant certificates and diplomas. Names and email addresses / phone numbers of two referees are also requested.

The Project Coordinator will be formally employed by AUH but with workplaces at both hospitals (allocation of time at each site as per practicality): Departments of Oncology and Clinical Molecular Biology (AUH) and Departments of Tumor Biology and Gastroenterological Surgery (OUH). Date of appointment as per agreement.

Application must be received by 19 March 2017.
