SURF Project Engineer | Stavanger

Work Task:

SURF Project Engineer will be responsible for supporting the planning and safe execution of Snadd Project with specific focus on managing the project interfaces between the SURF, SPS and Topsides contractors during FEED and taking on a delivery role one the project enters the Execute stage. The role will also provide general support to the SURF / SPS delivery team.

Accountable for leading the interface management process between the contractors involved in the SPS, SURF and Topsides scopes during the FEED phase.

Support delivery of key SURF or SPS scope elements / packages as required during and after FEED.

Support the project leadership team in providing project engineering support of project elements, meeting performance objectives for cost, schedule, 3rd party contractor management, HSE performance, operability and technical quality and reliability

Application of Client stage gate project management process

Compliance with Client and partner governance and funding process.

Support reporting project cost, schedule, milestones, and risks, along with any other significant metrics of project success.

Interface with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment of project objectives with business drivers.

Support effective techniques for regular communication across and outside the project team.

Strict adherence to Client and Industry Standards.

Focus on integration of the safety management system into all aspects of the project and team.

Support robust management of project risks.

Capture & communicate, as well as identify and apply technical lessons learned and project management best practices.

Support and drive continuous improvement across project.

Demonstrate behaviors which promote a safe and environmentally responsible work process and outcome in all aspects of the job.

Experience:

Must be able to speak, read, and write English fluently and working knowledge of Norwegian

Minimum 5 yrs. experience working on projects.

Minimum 10 yrs. experience in Subsea, Pipelines, or Marine Construction.

Subsea installation experience.

Significant experience with design phase (SURF scopes)

Experience with SPS and topsides scopes a considerable advantage

Demonstrable experience managing technical facilities interfaces

Willingness and ability to travel offshore

Strong planning, interpersonal, communication, influencing, and organizational skills essential.

Must have high motivation to manage the interfaces, the ability to focus on agreed deliveries, and be a team player.

Ability to define and prioritize issues and solve problems through networking with the involved parties

Innovative eye for identifying opportunities to reduce costs and challenge the status quo.

Ability to interface effectively with people of all levels, both internal and third parties, with wide ranging cultural backgrounds.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Engineering or similar technical degree
